Cheers from Canada!

Dear Fans, Athletes, Sponsors, Friends and Supporters of Tough Guy Productions,

Another great ski season is on for the TGP crew!

Due to the lack of snow around the Lake Tahoe area, I’ve headed back to my homeland of Canada for an all winter tour.  My new wife and TGP partner, Allie, is staying behind to coordinate the Telemark Big Air Invitational, as a specialist for the inaugural Winter Teva Mountain Games, in Vail, Colorado, February 9-12, 2012. TGP has selected and invited 10 of the worlds best “Tele Jibbers” for the competition. The Telemark Big Air is one of the main spectator events for the games, under the lights, side by side with the “Bike Best Trick” comp. This event will bring great exposure for the sport of Telemark skiing, please spread the word! Registration is now open at http://www.regonline.com/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=1032465

As for the Big Mountain Telemark Competitions, there will be two events. Grand Targhee Resort and Crested Butte Mountain Resort will each host a comp with the same format as last year with a day of qualifier, a final and super final round, along with awards and after parties. Please note that due to the lack of corporate partnerships, there will be no California or Alaska event this year, nor a comprehensive points series as in the past.

For your entertainment this season, stay tuned to the TGP Facebook fan page and check out www.toughguyproductions.com for photos, trip reports, and web episode to see your favorite TGP athletes in action exploring Canada’s wonderland… Also, new this year, TGP is proud to produce the FREERIDE/FLOW/FESTIVAL, a unique three-day celebration of Backcountry & Freeride Clinics, Live Music DJ’s and Yoga at Kirkwood Mountain Resort, March 16-18, 2012. Please visit www.freerideflowfest.com for event details.

In this note, I want to wish all Teleskiers out there a Happy New Year and a great 2012 ski season! Please remember to respect the backcountry and make smart decisions while your skiing. Voice your opinion with your ski partners before, during and after your own ski adventure. My mojo is to have fun and ski to Tele another day!  If you feel that it’s not completely safe out where you are, turn around and come back another time, the mountain will be waiting for you…

Cheers to the greatest and oldest turns on the hill!

Proud to be a Telemarker for 1/2 my life now!
