(Lake Tahoe, CA) – Tough Guy Productions (TGP), a Telemark Ski film company, revealed today its plans for a mulit-stop Big Mountain Telemark Series with events at Grand Targhee, Alpine Meadows, Crested Butte with the finals, by invitation only, to be held in Valdez, Alaska.
The 2011 Mountain Hardwear Big Mountain Telemark Series will be the first time in nearly ten years that a comprehensive Telemark points series has taken place, creating an environment that encourages safe, attractive, and progressive skiing.
TGP is proud to announce Mountain Hardwear as the title sponsor for the series. “At Mountain Hardwear, we believe in seeking out challenge and pushing the limits of human potential,” said Promotions Coordinator Jesse Malman. This lifestyle aligns perfectly with the nature of the big mountain ski competitions produced by Tough Guy Productions. We’re thrilled to be the title sponsor for the 2011 Big Mountain Telemark Series and hope that our support will help make the series and this partnership successful not only this year, but for many years to come.”
This big mountain series will link the promoters, competitors, ski resorts, sponsors, and media together with the goal of growing the sport and providing a quality product that will energize the ski industry.
Each of the scheduled events will stand on its own, with a leader board and cash prizes awarded to the top three men and women finishers. Competitors are encouraged to compete in all of the events throughout the season as their top three scores will be added together to determine overall ranking. The top three men and women series leaders after Crested Butte, will be invited to Valdez, Alaska for the World Telemark Freeskiing Championship, part of Tailgate Alaska and the World Freeride Festival.
